Learn in concept and practice how digital images are altered using Adobe Photoshop.  This four-hour class covers the basics of file type, image compression and resolution.  We will also explore how traditional darkroom techniques translate easily into the digital darkroom.  This class also provides an introduction to more advanced image editing using layers, masks and filters.

Presenter: Jason E Kaplan is a free-lance photographer based in Portland, Oregon.  An early adopter of digital technology, Jason began using Photoshop in the early 1990's and has been shooting digitally since the turn of the century.  He currently photographs for commercial and editorial clients around the Northwest and the country as well as teaches regularly at the New Space Center for Photography.  For more information about his work please see: www.jekphoto.com
